“Developing Combined Arts Field in Romania”

Bogdan Ardeleanu
- 2011-Apr-30 -
regional seminars

Bacau, 14th to 15th of April 2011

The main purpose of this seminar was to discuss with the most active members of Impreuna Network, about developing combined arts stimulation field and evolving of Impreuna Network.

On the 14th of April, guests from other cities came to Bacau, booked their rooms and we had a dinner to prepare for the next day. 16 people from 7 different counties stayed for the night, and a total of 35 participated at the seminar the next day. The event (rooms, meeting, dinner and lunch) took place at the Levisticum Hotel in Bacau.

The meeting on the 15th of April, started at 09 AM and finished at 03 PM.

Event opening and greeting was made by Mrs. Gabriela Achihai, pointing out the main purpose of this meeting and our expectations for this seminar. Next, there was a presentation about the news and main objectives of the Impreuna Network, made by Bogdan Ardeleanu. Mrs. Lenuta Nastac, spoke about developing the second and third module for the “Combined arts worker” training (Perfection and Qualification) and the need to include this profession in the institutions diagram.

Before this meeting, all the Impreuna Network members received a questionnaire with items about the Network future, members expectations from the Network and their role in developing it. The results were presented in this session of the meeting, named “Evaluating the Impreuna Network needs”.

Second part of the meeting was about “Strategic planning in developing the Impreuna Network”. Subjects of discussion were:

1. Where do you see the Impreuna Network in 5 years?

2. What do you think is our role in developing the combined arts field?

3. What should we do to develop this field?

There were many ideas, most important being:

We must have more projects in partnership with other NGO’s or institutions. The Network should be more visible. We have to continue working on 3rd module accreditation, the qualification in “Combined arts worker” profession. We need more experience exchange visits. Better lobby for this field in institutions and in mass-media. It would be great if we’ll have a virtual library and an online store for products made by people with disabilities around the country. We should make preparations for a postgraduate program in combined arts field. More visits were required and trainings in different fields like “Parents school”.

In the third part of the meeting, Magda Pata from Muzika Charitable Trust and her friend Claire, made a presentation about a research for their Master qualification; also conclusions were draw for this seminar. At the end, Mrs. Lenuta Nastac made an exercise and the guests were required to draw something with this meeting on their mind; also they were asked to describe to others their feelings about that drawing.

In conclusion, this meeting was more than welcome and guests pointed out that this kind of meetings should happen more, also Impreuna Network members should be more involved in developing the Network and combined arts field. Our guests were interested in trainings provided by IMPART team and they made arrangements for future “Combined art worker” trainings in their institutions and NGO’s.

The event finished with lunch and goodbye thoughts.
